The Purpose of the Covid-19 Risk Assessment is to provide a common framework for businesses and employers to make risk informed decisions about Public Safety and the operations of their business
Since there are no vaccines or treatments for COVID-19, non-pharmaceutical interventions become the most important response strategy. These are community interventions that can help reduce the impact of disease and prevent another shut-down.
I work with local governments as a ‘Local Public Health Partner.’ This arms-length relationship allows me to talk more candidly with business owners and managers. Yet, also allows for the community leaders to help their local businesses present a more unified approach to Covid-19 mitigations for their residents.
Using a Business Risk Assessment Tool designed by the World Health Organization and supplemented with the State of Illinois’ Restore IL Guidance, I will conduct a 45-minute interview with business owners and managers. During the discussion, we will review health and safety concepts, I will provide directions to find information and a Risk Value will be given to the business.
